WHERE IT BEGINS

Everything happened on the terrace. Every Indian home has a chaubaraa - the room on the roof. It was never the important room. It was where you went to think, to wait, to argue, to be left alone. Where friendships were made, where decisions were quietly admitted, where the cousins planned things the adults were never told about. Nothing up there was ever formally announced. It just happened. Chaubaraa began with one idea: the terrace is where honest memory lives - and some memories deserve to stay close.

WHAT WE MADE

Four conversations. We didn’t set out to make four moods. We made four specific moments — the kind of things that happen on a terrace and never quite leave. A friendship kept alive by letters. A morning you go upstairs to admit something to yourself. Someone you notice across the gali and never speak to. A wedding night the cousins refuse to let end. KHAT. KASHMAKASH. MULAQAAT. BAITHAK. We call them conversational scents — each one a conversation you’ve already had, with someone else or with yourself. Made with Indian ingredients, shaped around Indian life.

WHO WE ARE

Three of us, in Bengaluru. Different houses, different cities, but somehow the terrace was always the same place for all of us — the place you went when the rooms downstairs felt too loud, too full, or too expectant. The place conversations stretched longer. Where thoughts settled slowly. Where people became more honest versions of themselves. Chaubaraa grew out of those spaces and the memories they quietly held onto. We made these scents to keep them close. If they bring yours back, they’ve done their job. conversational scents. rooted memory.
